Health Partners New England and HealthMetrics Partners have completed the first of a series of hospital emergency room assessment and intervention projects to reduce the amount of time Behavioral Health patients spend in Hospital Emergency Departments. By improving the process of care, patient and staff satisfaction has improved while the time in the ED and cost has been reduced. Sisters of Providence Health System and Mercy Hospital of Springfield, MA continue to implement suggested changes to reduce the amount of time patients spend in the ED. Results of this work were presented to Massachusetts Department of Health and Human Services Commissioner John W. Polanowicz and Julian Harris MD, Medicaid Director.

HPNE has licensed HealthcareSource Performance Manager® to simplify the performance management process by automating the workflow and content for performance appraisals, competencies, training, and performance reporting. The cloud-based software provides a structure and reminder system that focuses on goals and creates an easy system for documentation, follow-through, and dialogue. We feel that this software solution will help us document staff competencies, licenses and other information to better serve our patients and our clients. We are particularly excited for the capacity to provide 360-style evaluations of key leadership team members including Medical Directors, Administrative Directors and Nurse Managers.
