Program Managers and Consultants report both to HPNE and to primary contacts at each HPNE client site. Our customers bring their own styles, levels of involvement and expectations to that supervisory process. Our Managers need to be adept and flexible in adapting to these varying styles. Senior staff in our corporate offices located northeast of Boston, Massachusetts support our on-site program managers, consultants, medical directors, nurse leaders, and marketing personnel.

VICE-PRESIDENT, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
Health Partners New England, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Behavioral Health at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, MA.
The Vice President of Behavioral Health is the Administrative Manager over Behavioral Health Services including a 126 bed service (Geriatric, Addictions, Adult and Child Services), and Outpatient Behavioral Health Services. Responsible for administrative supervision, fiscal management, creating and developing clinically sound, customer-oriented services responsive to community need. Actively works with senior management and program staff to provide: policies, procedures, training, budget management and interventions that promote sound management, high quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, continuous improvement and long-term fiscal solvency of the programs within the purview of the position.
Reports to Health Partners New England CEO and Mercy Medical Center CEO. Participates in Mercy Hospital Administrative on-call; assures behavioral health services compliance with all Mercy Hospital policies and procedures; complies with all sentinel event and incident reporting protocols; participates in 3-5 year strategic planning and 1 year operational plans.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced level knowledge of behavior health and advanced skills in the application of clinical treatment modalities with population(s) served; reading and writing and mathematical abilities and skills at the masters degree level; skills in application of DSM-IV methodology; effective oral and written communication skills; advanced management and supervisory skills and experience; skills in clinical supervision and training or effective delegation of same; experience in and philosophical commitment to, inpatient care; experience in outpatient, partial hospitalization and other services within the continuum of care; skills in interpreting and applying standards and regulations applicable to programs and services (e.g. the Joint Commission, DMH, DPH, CMS); public speaking or teaching/training skills desired; organizational, time management, problem-solving, crisis management, and team-building skills necessary; fiscal and personnel management skills; flexibility, creativity, and ability to manage stress necessary; skills in maintaining professional confidentiality required.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Either relevant Masters level education or equivalent professional experience of no less than five years in diverse program management in a hospital setting necessary. Masters level education and minimum of three years in diverse program management positions including staff development and supervision strongly desired. Previous experience with The Joint Commission, CMS, DMH, DPH, state and federal contracts, various third party payor contracts and budget development and management a significant benefit.
Medical Director, Behavioral Health
Health Partners New England, Inc., a Psychiatric Management and Consulting company located in Winchester, MA is seeking a Medical Director, Behavioral Health at Providence Behavioral Health Hospital, a component of Mercy Medical Center. The Medical Director of Behavioral Health is the Senior Administrative Psychiatrist over Behavioral Health Services including a 126 bed inpatient service (Geriatric, Addictions, Adult and Child Services), and Outpatient Behavioral Health Services at the Providence Behavioral Health Hospital campus in Holyoke, MA.
The Medical Director is responsible, in conjunction with the VP of Behavioral Health Services and Director of Nursing, for planning, implementation, delivery and evaluation of psychiatric services to insure that high quality and cost-effective patient care is provided. The Medical Director works with facility medical and clinical staff as well as community physicians that admit patients to the service, to assure high quality patient care and effective communication regarding patient status, medical treatment, and discharge planning. The Medical Director is responsible for creating and developing medically and clinically sound, customer-oriented services responsive to community need.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced knowledge and expertise in psychiatry and advanced skills in the application of clinical treatment modalities with population(s) served. Skills in application of DSM-IV methodology; effective oral and written communication skills; skills in interpreting and applying standards and regulations applicable to programs and services (e.g. JCAHO, HCFA, AMA), basic management and supervisory skills; skills in clinical supervision, training or effective delegation of same; teaching/training skills desired; problem-solving, crisis management, and team-building skills necessary; fiscal skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of an accredited medical school and board-certified in the relevant patient population served. Member of hospital medical staff. Experienced in inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, well developed skills in integrating individual treatment approaches into treatment milieu, and good working relationships with other attending physicians and staff. Demonstrated managerial and leadership experience.
